The city council of Leipzig voted to abrogate the already barely followed curfew from 5am to 6am. Therefore soon the city’s revered Institut für Zukunft club will be able to go all night long as any other club in Germany.

The SPD, the Left and the Greens proposed a joint motion to abolish the measure, they received 55 votes in favour from the city council, with zero votes against, and just six abstainers.

Juliane Nagel of The Left political party described the curfew as a “medieval relic”.

Institut für Zukunft released the good news posting a classic Beastie Boys clip.
