Avicii’s Death Might Have Been a Suicide

The Swedish DJ and producer's family have issued a new statement.

Tim Bergling‘s family have shared a new statement about his death, implying that the Swedish DJ and producer who performed as Avicii might have committed suicide, although is still unclear how he actually died.

Tim Bergling was found dead in his hotel room in a Muscat Hills Resort in Oman on April 20th, at the age of 28. According to media reports, Oman authorities have raised no criminal suspicion.

The family released that: “He really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.

Adding: “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions, an over-achieving perfectionist who traveled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. […] He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. […] Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, Your family.

In 2016, Avicii has announced that he would have stopped touring, at the height of his popularity, following a series of physical and mental health issues due to the pressures of high-intensity performances his family said the decision was motivated by his desire “to find a balance in life, to be happy and be able to do what he loved most, music.
