The “Avicii Tribute” event was held on Saturday afternoon at Sergels Torg plaza, which was filled with dancing and crying fans. After a minute’s silence, a group of friends and figures from the music industry shared their favorite memories and songs.
Avicii, real name Tim Bergling was found dead in Muscat, Oman on Friday. The cause has not been revealed yet.
Neil Jacobson, president of Geffen Records, stated that the EDM artist was working on a new album at the time of his death.
“We were working on it and it was his best music in years, honestly. And I know because I [represented] all of his albums. He was so inspired. He was so psyched,” he told to Variety.
No decision has been made yet about the release of the new record. “We’ll try to get some advice from the family and everybody’s going to put their heads together and try and do what we think Tim would want us to do.”
