Gucci has revealed its SS19 collection will debut at Paris’ Théâtre Le Palace on September 24th.
Built in the 17th century as a music and dance hall, the legendary theatre turned into a discothèque in the ’70s, and since then it has been referred to as Paris’ answer to Studio 54. Over the years the venue has hosted the likes of Blondie, Prince, Talking Heads, The Clash, Karl Lagerfield, Yves Saint Laurent and many more.
Conceived by Gucci creative director, Alessandro Michele, and his longtime friend, music collaborator and Le Palace resident DJ, Michel Gaubert, the project was first launched with the brand’s pre-fall/winter advertising campaign, followed by its May cruise show in Arles. And the show at Le Palace will mark the final chapter in Michele’s tribute to the French country.
“The Théâtre Le Palace resonates with the vision of the house as it is a venue that gave life to a (sub)culture that has inspired young generations up until today,” read a statement from Gucci.
