Underground Resistance co-founder, minimal techno pioneer and ordained minister Robert Hood will preach and play at St. Thomas Kirche, in Kreuzberg, Berlin, next month.

The performance, entitled ‘Robert Hood – Playing and Preaching’, will take place between 7pm and 9pm on Friday, November 9th and whilst the event is not ticketed, donations are welcome.

Hood’s music, particularly under his Floorplan moniker, has consistently drawn from religious themes in the last few years. In a 2016 Rolling Stone article, he explained that “house music comes from gospel music,” adding that he sees “any form of music as ministry. It just depends on what you’re preaching. When I’m behind the turntables, I’m at a pulpit. I’m preaching a message of love – it’s just coming through electrical wires and Funktion-One speakers.

Hood also has a DJ-Kicks mix coming out on November 16th via !K7 Records. Head here for more info.
