The date for London Overground 24-hour service has finally been revealed.

London major Sadiq Khan announced trains will run for the whole night on weekends starting from December 15th.

The service will initially be operational between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction, and then expanded to Highbury & Islington next year.

Khan said himself delighted with the news, since it is the very first time for London’s Overground to run through the night. He then added “The Night Tube has proven such a success with Londoners, I know the Night Overground will help thousands more who are working through the night or out enjoying our capital’s nightlife.”

This decision marks not only the 10th anniversary of the Overground, but also a positive moment for London nightlife, that recently saw the scrapping of Form 696. Being a cultural and attractive capital, it is indeed very important for the city to be supported by efficient transport networks. The Overground line will be the sixth to run the late-night service.
