Depeche Mode have revealed plans to reissue their single catalogue in a series of special edition vinyl box sets.
Each box set will come with a new artwork inspired by the original album, while the individual 12″ singles will feature a replica of the original single cover.
The series kicks off with Speak & Spell – The 12″ Singles and A Broken Frame – The 12″ Singles on August 31st via Sony Music Entertainment.
Speaking of the box sets, the acclaimed English electronic band said: “Our 12″ singles have always been incredibly important to the band. It’s great to be able to re-share these songs with old and new fans in the way they were originally intended to be experienced. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.”
In addition to the box sets, the band have also unveiled a special limited-edition series of watches inspired by their 55 singles. They will incorporate the artwork from the single into the design of the watch and come with a Roland JP-08 synthesizer, a copy of the corresponding vinyl single, and a certificate of authenticity signed by the band. All proceeds will go to water, a global non-profit organisation aiming at bringing clean, safe water to people around the world.
