Incredibly, this week marks the 20th anniversary of Daft Punk’s agenda-setting debut album, Homework.

The culmination of the preceding of twenty years of dance floor revolutions, from soul and disco to funk, electro, house techno and rave, Homework was the touch-paper for a generation of producers who saw the future reflected in the French duo’s iconic helmets.

On ‘Teachers’ however, a sub-three minute electro-funk bomb nestled in ninth place on the tracklist, Daft Punk took a moment to look behind them and pay homage to their forefathers.

Extending the exercise, dancefloor historian and Daft Punk disciple CK has created the third in his Teachers mix series – premiered by FACT – focussing on the house and techno pioneers that weren’t featured on the previous two mixes, and making the connection between the club and electronic experimentalists like John Carpenter, Kraftwerk and Herbie Hancock.

Needless to say it’s pure fire.
