Annie Mac’s new club culture documentary “Who Killed the Night?” is available to stream

Annie Mac’s new mini-documentary on UK club culture, aired on BBC Three, is now available to stream in full via the BBC website and BBC’ Youtube channel (video above).

The 30-minute special, titled Who Killed The Night?, sees Annie investigate why the UK has lost over half its clubs in the last decade, explore the constant controversies circling around nightlife alongisde chats with key industry figures like London’s Night Czar, Amy Lamé.

The famed BBC personality proclaims in a short video preview: “I want – I need – to know why these places I love, that have shaped who I am, are disappearing”.

The show’s synopsis also goes on to ask: “Is it property developers, the police or local councils who are contributing to the decline? Or is it simply the fact young people are changing the way they go about partying, with the advent of all-day parties, illegal raves and the internet?”

Almost half of the UK’s clubs have closed down in the last 10 years, including the sudden closure of iconic Manchester club Sankeys last week.
