The BBC decided to share with the public its vast sound archive, consisting of more than 16.000 sound effects.

All the British Broadcasting Corporation’s sound effects that has been recorded in over 90 years of work, are now available for free in WAV format on the new BBC Sound Effects website, but only for use under the terms of the RemArc Licence, which means only for personal, educational or research purposes.

The set includes audios recorder from across the world and some sound effects created in the BBC studios.
