Sónar is officially landing for the first time in Mexico, with a new Mexico City edition confirmed to debut in 2019.
There are no details regarding the forthcoming festival’s dates, artists or venues yet. However organisers have announced a warm-up event called A Taste Of Sónar, set to take place on November 15 at Ex-Fábrica de Harina in Mexico City and headlined by the French electronic music pioneer Laurent Garnier alongside several local acts. This year, the long-running Barcelona-based festival celebrated its 25 year anniversary by sending exclusively composed pieces of music from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Nina Kraviz, Kerri Chandler, Autechre, The Black Madonna, Fatima Al Qadiri, Modeselektor, Laurent Garnier, Kode 9, Laurel Halo and more into outer space.
