The Indian state of Goa, known as the country’s rave and dance music destination, has announced it will set up the dance parties the state has become known for.

Parrikar expressed as much to reporters: “There is a legal ban on holding parties after 10 pm. The ban will be upheld by the state government”.

A week before Parrikar’s announcement, Goa’s water resources minister Vinod Palyekar called for an end to such late-night dance parties: “These parties are against our culture. We need to stop them immediately”.
