A new vinyl pressing plant called Program Records is opening in Melbourne, Australia.

According to its website, the factory will be operative in early 2018 and will come fully equipped with WarmTone presses created by Canadian company Viryl Technologies, who claims their machines to be the fastest ones in the world.

Also, the factory will initially press 12-inch in 140 and 180 grams but plans to expanding to 7-inch and 10-inch formats later in 2018. Custom colour options will also be available.

Founder Steve Lynch says: “Program Records will focus on supporting the local music scene backed by a data driven and highly efficient production facility. Australia has a great music scene that deserves to have affordable, good quality vinyl made here on time”.

The news follows that of a pressing plant opening in Japan.
