The British-Brazilian DJ and producer Wax Wings has delivered a new EP, “Whisper“, out now via The Weird & The Wonderful X Skint.
‘Whisper’ is a collection of hard-hitting dancefloor tracks that work both individually and together as a complete collection of art, this EP optimizes Wax Wings’ unique sound spanning all manner of genres.
Inaugural track ‘Whisper’ is deep and driving house track that layers classic house elements with tribal nuances and a warm looping vocal line. ‘The Touch’ combines powerful kicks and rolling rhythms with swirling piano elements, that carry a definitive air of optimism. Contrastingly, the heavy droning bassline of ‘Never Come Back’ teamed with eerie synth melodies and breaky drum rhythms begin a descent into grittier depths. ‘Shame’ employs equally unswerving bass and breaks with reggae-style principles. ‘Rain’ concludes the EP, taking small niceties from all other tracks from the release. Driving kicky rhythms and deep dubbing melodies, build to deliver a gripping bassline.
