The model joins the silver SL-1200GR edition that was announced earlier this year and both models are an extension of 2016’s SL-1200G turntable with added durability, shock resistance, a reliable direct drive and adjustable rotation speed.

The SL-1200GR and SL-1210GR also have an enhanced coreless direct-drive motor, precise motor control technology, and a high-rigidity platter and high-sensitivity tonearm to optimise sound quality.

“The SL-1200GR and SL-1210GR combine the best of both worlds,” says Michiko Ogawa, Director Technics at Panasonic. “We are sure both models will fulfill the expectations of Technics fans around the globe. Our objective was to extend our top range for audio enthusiasts as well as professional DJs.”

The SL-1200GR (silver) and SL-1210GR (black) will be available from April 2017 from £1299.
