Movement and Splice to Release Sample Pack from Detroit Festival 2018

'Sounds Of Detroit', based on Shigeto and Wajeed recordings features over 20 artists.

Movement teamed up with Splice to release ‘Sounds Of Detroit‘, a concept sample pack featuring over 20 artists that took the stage at Movement Detroit 2018.

The project is based on field recordings taken from Detroit legends Shigeto and Wajeed at significant locations around the city. Then the artists from Movement’s 2018 line-up were invited to High Bias studios to resample and transform the recordings into samples and loops for the pack.

Artists that featured in “Sounds of Detroit” are the likes of Andrés, Mark Flash, Ectomorph, Blake Baxter, Shady P, Delano Smith, Black Noi$e, Marco Shuttle, Mija, John Dixon, Chris Koltay and more.

Proceeds will be donated to Seraphine Collective and Spin, Inc, two organizations promoting a diverse and inclusive music scene in Detroit.

Splice has also shared a short documentary to give viewers a look into how the Movement Sample Pack was created, including also some stories from the artists involved.
